Cherishing Fall

The weather has been confusing as ever here in Virginia but no complaints over here. I've been enjoying my 30 degree mornings equally as much I enjoy my 75 degree afternoons. Either way, Murphy's been enjoying her mornings at the dog park, while I'm bundled up in a winter coat and Riv's been enjoying playing with dirt outside wherever we go.

Ray and I have been trying to be good about taking both the dog and the kid outside as much as we can so that they don't have time to feel any ounce of cabin fever. We tend to run out of ideas quickly... should we go to the dog park again? To that restaurant that allows dogs to sit in their property? Should we just walk around the neighborhood for the second time today? Coming up with things to do is not our forte so when someone gives us an opportunity to show up at an event with a petting zoo, a pony ride, and a moon bounce... we're in.

It was particularly warm this afternoon but none of us minded the great outdoors.

Climbing on top of the corn hole. Pretty sure that's not what it's used for but OK.

Riv's very first pony ride. Reluctant at first she touched the soft pony's mane and thoroughly enjoyed the short ride.

This big baby wanted to be free 99% of the time we were there.

Old town Fairfax has been our new favorite spot to hang out. It is warm and welcoming and the food has been delightful to say the least. Here we are at Courtside Thai. The owners gave Murphy a bowl of water and brought Riv some fruit as soon as we sat down. The food was also really great. There were so many options to our usual noodles, fried rice, curry, and rice/meat selection.
