I'm a deal seeker. I love finding sweet deals and sharing about them with whoever's willing to hear, usually Han. Now, I can save his ears and share with YOU my couponing and deal-seeking adventures!
Rewind back to about two and a half years ago, I found out that few of the church moms shared the same passion and oh boy, was I thrilled. We'd message each other the best diaper and wipe deals and this was all before Halie was even born! Man, was I super excited to save that $$$ for Halie and the family or what? I wish I could share with y'all my diapers stock pile at our old place- it was glorious! The entire linen closet had been converted to diapers and wipes and I felt ready to welcome Halie into the world. When we moved to our new place about a year ago, I had filled up one of these boxes entirely- and this was the remainder of the stock pile right before Halie turned one...
Anyway, my latest deal-finding adventure hasn't been with diapers (although, I should start couponing again for that...) but with DRUMROLL please.... TOILET PAPER!
Now, this didn't really require any couponing but I did do some extensive research, cross-referencing on different websites, and had my calculator open to make sure I was getting the best deal possible.
First, I looked on Amazon. As Amazon Prime members, Amazon has been a blessing and a dangerous website for our family. So, it was natural for me to look and find that "best deal" on Amazon. I found this one and thought, hey! this is great...
But, I don't know... $19.47 didn't seem that cheap so even after ordering it with some hesitation, I ventured off to other sites.
Next, I went on to Costco to see what the general price for toilet paper was.
Hmm... all great. But I wondered if there were any other better deals. So I went onto my third and final website- Jet.com. Now, I knew of Jet when it first went public.. when there was nothing much on there. However, I'd see more deals popping up on Jet lately so I thought, why not. This is what I found...
Can you believe that? Jet.com sold Costco brand's even cheaper than the actual Costco site/store! And you know what else is great about Jet.com?? The more you buy, the more you save!
Man, I thought I found a deal. But you know what was even better??? I click "add to cart" and "view cart" and what do you know?? There's a box where you can check off for "waive free return and save $x.xx" WHATTTTT?? HECK YEAH, it's toilet paper- I don't need to return this ish! But it doesn't stop there, my friends. If you just recently subscribed, you can use the code "TRIPLE15" to get 15% off on your first 3 orders!
That my friend, is a SUPER AWESOME deal. Now, some of you might've taken out your calculator and thought "uhmm, Julie- $2.17/roll ain't that cheap". But this is what I learned from my equally money savvy husband. You can't count the rolls in the packaging, you gotta count the sheets per roll. So in the end, this does end up being the best deal (that I've found so far). Another question you might've asked was "If the more you buy, the more you save... why not just buy 10?" Well, as great as it is to have a private garage, these Costco toilet paper packs are huge and take up a lot of space. 6 is a lot... but 10? How am I going to coupon and stock up more items if just the toilet paper stock pile takes up that much space in my garage? And yes- I cancelled my first order on Amazon and just "waited patiently" for my Jet order to arrive, in which it did- in just two days!
