I've been trying something new the past two weeks. If you know me, you know I am not only married to a coffee snob but I am also a lover of coffee. I'm a little bit of a cheat because I need my cream and sugar in it though. Anyhow, I've been trying to stay away from coffee and have been trying teas. I love teas but in the morning, I need a good sweetness with my caffeine to kick me in the butt in the morning so I started ordering Green Tea Lattes at Starbucks. Which, I really didn't like. The ratio to the amount of matcha they add into the drink vs their sweetener and milk is off balance. So I decided to try and make my own little concoction.
It's so easy! All you need is...
- A milk of your choice. (I used almond milk but I also like it with coconut milk.)
- Honey or sweetener
- Vanilla Extract (Optional)
I really eyeballed majority of this so I'm going to try my best here to provide measurements. I put about 1.5 cups of milk into my nutribullet cup, 2 heaping teaspoons of matcha (I like the taste of a bit more green tea/matcha than milk in mind and this does it for me), 1-2 teaspoons of honey, and just a really small splash of vanilla extract for taste. I then put on my nutribullet blade and blend away!
Voila! Iced green tea latte on a hot and sticky Virginia summer.
