Friday Favorites : Jess Edition

TGIF, am I right?! Let's get right into this:

1. Celestial's Honey Vanilla Chamomile Tea. With my favorite season, Fall, finally here to stay for maybe two weeks in good ol' Northern Virginia, I have been enjoying this delicious tea in the evening to wind down. The chamomile's been great for my pregnant stomach and also great as a night cap replacement.

2. Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Longwear Cushion Foundation. Although I've been laying off the face makeup this entire summer, the makeup geek inside of me was itching to try something new for the colder seasons. Luckily, I had a Sephora Gift Card at hand from my birthday and decided to purchase this gem. I'm already a fan of cushion makeup and this thing was much better than I had anticipated. It is truly long lasting (even with my man sweat) and it sits beautifully. It's higher coverage than the normal Korean cushions so I wear it on the days where I feel my skin is looking extra tired.

3. Finally, my most favorite Favorite of the week. Family walks and occasional breakfast at our local Starbucks.

This week, I've been having multiple conversations with numerous people about everything that's been going on in the world. The stories from child abuse, kidnappings to shootings. With all the tragedy and injustice that's been happening around the world, the first thought I have every time I read the news is: How can I protect Riv? How can I teach her compassion? How can I teach her kindness? How can I teach her to be strong? It's a big and heavy responsibility... When I look back to my childhood and the troubles and unfairness my parents went through, I clearly remember their anger and tears. Their frustration and how they tried to hide it. I also remember their hardwork, dedication to their family, their faith in Christ, and the love they showed me and my brother. Remembering those times, I will take those precious 30 minutes to an hour of my day to take walks with my family and let my neighbors pet Murphy, say hi to River, laugh, have meaningful conversations with my husband, and show River that there are little moments such as these where people are kind and how she is loved.
